A vigorous and creative artist, Mark Spain has built up an enviable reputation as one of the country's leading young figurative painters. His recent work explores the idea of placing his female subject in front of an abstract image, thereby creating a mood and energy within the painting. Having exhibited in galleries all over the UK, Marks originals can be found in private collections around the world, including Spain, Belgium, Frane and New Zealand. Illustrious commisions undertaken include the Dorchester Hotel, Kew Gardens and Natwest Bank. Mark was a Finalist in the prestigious Fine Art Trade Guild's 'Up And Coming Artist' award for 2003.
