The sad news of the death of Govinder Nazran, one of the UK’s leading contemporary artists was announced recently in a statement from Washington Green, his publisher of nearly 10 years.
Winner of the 2004 art industry ‘Best Selling Published Artist Award’ Govinder’s unique style of part defined, part abstract images came from applying oil blocks to canvas using only his fingers.
A self-confessed optimist, many of his paintings concern good and evil. In his own words, “You can choose to see these paintings any way you like. See love and happiness or death and the Devil, it doesn’t matter so long as you see something and connect with it.”
Govinder Nazran is survived by his wife Sarah and daughter Eden.
