Peter, who lives and paints in Jesmond, Newcastle, trained as a commercial artist in the 1960's at Sunderland Art College and has had a very successful career in advertising and design. He now concentrates solely on his watercolour painting.

Peter paints in various styles and his subjects include moody landscapes, nostalgic beach scenes with rainy days on the promenade and urban scenes. Over the last few years his hallmark figures with umbrellas have become very recognisable. "For me atmosphere is the most important element in a picture and this is what I try to capture in all my work".

Peter has had four successful solo exhibitions in Newcastle over the last few years. His paintings also hang in Canada, France, Scandinavia, Russia and Spain.
