Lea Stein - Red Pearlescent Large Fox Brooch
A long 3.75" (9.5cms) French celluloid fox brooch by Lea Stein

Lea Stein was born in Paris in 1931. She married Fernand Steinberger in the 1950's - who was a chemist and created the celluloid laminate used to make the amazing jewellery and items designed by Lea Stein. She originally worked for Cocoa Chanel before starting production of her own in 1969, producing brooches, rings, bangles, necklaces, earrings, combs, jewellery boxes, picture frames, buttons and accessories. She stopped production in 1981 but due to popular demand re-opened again a few years later.
Each brooch is signed, Lea Stein, Paris and has the V-shaped safety clasp.
Due to the manufacturing process that is used, each brooch is different and individual. These items are now extremely collectible, and although not made during the deco years, are considered very deco in style.
