Victorian Solid Silver Gilt Cocktail/Champagne Goblet
By J N Mappin & Webb this beautiful Champagne Goblet dates back to 1887.
Measures 3.75" across the top & stands 4.5" high.
It is made from solid silver with a circular cup that has been internally gilded or gold plated and stands on a tall slim stem over a circular foot.
The external cup has been impressed with a full set of English solid silver hallmarks: J.N.M / LION PASSANT / LEOPARD HEAD / M / QUEEN VICTORIA HEAD
J.N.M is the makers mark of John Mappin of Mappin & Webb
The Lion Passant is the mark of English Solid Sterling Silver
The Leopard Head is the mark of the London Assay Office
The Letter 'M' in shield is the date letter for 1887
The Queen Victoria's head is the duty mark of the reigning Monarch
